The Taj Exotica was re-opened in December 2005 after being refurbished following the tsuami. It offers you all the key 5-star comforts you could wish for in a classic Maldivian environment with thatched accommodation.

The resort occupies an island called Emboodhu Finolhu, only 15 minutes by speedboat from Male, whose taller buildings can be seen in the distance especially at night. You can see and hear the aircraft taking off and landing at Hulhule Airport but this should not put you off a great resort with a spectacular lagoon surrounding it. The lagoon is ideal for canoeing and windsurfing but is generally devoid of fish life meaning the snorkelling is not great. For that you will need to take a daily snorkelling excursion.

For stressed out couples this is a truly great place to relax and unwind, helped by the ever-friendly Spa staff who can never do enough for you. With its 55 water villas (10 of which have private pools) there is plenty of space for all and the resort exudes a peacefulness.

Honeymooners wanting total peace and intimacy will love Taj Exotica. The Rehendi Suite is a special 2-room suite at the end of a private pier. Equipped with an outdoor Jacuzzi and a separate spa room it offers complete solitude and luxury.
