Our Opinion

Cora Cora Maldives arrived on Raa Maamigili in October 2021, following a full change of ownership and a thorough reinvention of the property. What was once another resort has been transformed into a 4-star Deluxe All Inclusive with a distinct personality — fresh, modern, and quietly buzzing with a beach club atmosphere.

The overhaul was comprehensive: villa interiors refreshed to feel airy and contemporary, dining options expanded, and the spa, kids' club, fitness centre and dive facilities all upgraded. What stands out is the quality of food at this category — restaurant menus are varied and interesting, with a particularly strong selection of plant-based dishes. The Grab & Go service, which lets guests order takeaway from any outlet to enjoy in their villa or on the beach, is a clever concept that works well in practice.

One addition we'd welcome is a second beach bar away from the main Acquapazza area — guests have echoed the same, so it may well be in the pipeline. Meanwhile, don't overlook the island's history: Raa Maamigili has a rich archaeological past, with museum-quality artefacts on display and a resident curator who offers genuinely fascinating tours.

The dive team are approachable and enthusiastic — well worth a visit. The house reef is accessible directly from the shore, though it extends away from the island, and the guided snorkelling trips are the best way to reach the more rewarding stretches.

All told, a very good package at its price point — comfortably recommended.

Launched in late 2021 following a complete rebrand, Cora Cora Maldives sits in Raa Atoll, spread across a generous lagoon fringed by lush tropical vegetation. The resort offers 100 villas and operates on a premium all-inclusive basis, with a relaxed and colourful character that suits a wide range of travellers — couples, families, solo guests and groups alike.

Accommodation
Villas are positioned either on the beach nestled within the greenery, or over the water. One- and two-bedroom options are available, and many villas include private pools.

Dining
Acquapazza is the Italian beach club and restaurant, serving all-day drinks, a late lunch menu and poolside music. Tazäa explores the flavours of the ancient Spice Route alongside comfort food classics, with sunset views across the lagoon. Ginger Moon brings Asian street food energy to the evenings, while Teien offers Japanese cuisine — sushi, kushiyaki and more — in a more intimate setting. MYCOFFEE operates throughout the day as an open-air café and snack lounge. Across all outlets, the Grab & Go service allows guests to take any dish back to their villa or the beach.
