Reethi Faru Resort
Our Opinion
Reethi Faru opened its doors in December 2017 in Raa Atoll, originally developed as a sister resort to the well-established Reethi Beach. It has quickly become a favourite. The island's past as a coconut plantation means it is wonderfully lush, with pockets of dense tropical foliage woven throughout the grounds.
The feel here is authentically Maldivian: barefoot, relaxed, and gently rustic, yet the detached villas are all modern and fresh. Dining is well catered for with several restaurants and bars to choose from.
The house reef is a particular highlight, accessible via eight clearly marked channels (four on each side of the island). Snorkelling equipment comes at an additional charge unless you are on the Dine Around All Inclusive package.

Set within Raa Atoll, Reethi Faru Resort occupies a small tropical island fringed by white sand beaches, lush greenery, and a lively house reef. The resort combines premium hospitality with a serious commitment to environmental conservation and marine protection, making it a standout choice for eco-conscious travellers.
The island is reached via a 45-minute seaplane flight from Male, placing guests in a wonderfully secluded natural setting. It suits honeymooners, couples, and families alike, whether they are looking to unwind or explore.
Accommodation comprises 145 villas and suites, all designed in a traditional Maldivian style that blends natural materials with contemporary comforts. Choices include Garden Villas, Deluxe Beach Villas, overwater villas, and spacious two-bedroom suites. Many provide direct beach or lagoon access, while the upper-tier villas boast private pools or spa tubs.
Dining is a strong point, with six restaurants and six bars catering to a wide variety of tastes. Vakaru, the main buffet restaurant, serves international cuisine with themed evenings across breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Speciality options include the beachfront Reethi Grill (specialising in grilled meats, seafood, and wood-fired cooking) and Veggie n Vegan, a dedicated plant-based venue. A 24-hour overwater restaurant offers round-the-clock dining. Bars are scattered across the island, from sunset spots and a poolside bar to a central social hub, offering everything from cocktails and wines to fresh juices and coffees, often accompanied by evening entertainment.
Beyond dining, the resort's water sports centre covers both leisurely and high-adrenaline activities, and a certified dive centre opens up the surrounding reefs. The marine centre runs conservation initiatives like coral restoration, while the spa, fitness centre, and yoga sessions round out the wellness offering.
