JA Manafaru packs a remarkable amount into one island. Whether you're escaping as a couple or bringing the family, there's serious breadth here. The villas are generous — all of them with private pools and a dedicated villa host — and the standard across the board feels properly five-star.

The dining is a genuine highlight. The Dine Around programme gives you real choice across multiple venues, from the Ocean Grill's just-caught reef fish to White Orchid's teppanyaki, and The Cellar is genuinely unusual for the Maldives — a subterranean wine cave that makes for a memorable evening out.

Beaches are wide, the sand is that classic powdery stuff you came for, and the house reef delivers respectably for snorkellers. It's a well-balanced island — strong on food, solid on accommodation, and enough personality to feel like more than just another luxury resort.
