Sitting in South Male Atoll, Anantara Dhigu is around 35 minutes by speedboat from the airport. A classy Maldivian retreat with luxurious villas that work beautifully for both couples and families. We've always rated Anantara highly as a brand, and Dhigu delivers with genuine confidence. One honest caveat: the aerial shots don't lie — there's no house reef here. The beach drops into a sandy lagoon rather than coral, so keen snorkellers should plan for boat trips to nearby reefs. A small trade-off at a resort that otherwise gets a great deal right.
