Conrad Maldives Rangali Island
Our Opinion
Conrad Rangali delivers 5* Luxury across two distinct islands connected by a walkway — giving guests the rare option of lively or secluded, depending on their mood.
It works well for both honeymooners and families, which is harder to pull off than it sounds. The kids are well looked after, with activities that include a Finding Nemo-inspired mini-submersible for underwater exploration — the kind of thing that makes a family holiday genuinely memorable.
For couples, the quieter second island is where the overwater villas are concentrated, and honestly, they're among the finest we've seen across the Maldives. That quality comes with pricing to match, but for those looking for top-tier overwater accommodation, these villas absolutely hold their own.
And then there's Ithaa — the undersea restaurant. Dining beneath the ocean is the kind of experience that defines a trip, and it remains as distinctive today as the day it opened.

Summary
Conrad Maldives Rangali Island sits in the South Ari Atoll, a 30-minute seaplane flight from Malé. The resort stretches across two connected islands — Rangali-Finolhu and the quieter Rangali Island — linked by a 500-metre bridge, giving guests two very different atmospheres in one stay.
**Accommodation**
There are 151 villas and suites spread across both islands, with a dedicated Island Host service for every guest. Rangali-Finolhu offers beach villas, larger family suites, and a range of Grand Water Villas — many with private pools and direct beach access. Rangali Island focuses on overwater villas designed for privacy, including Sunrise and Sunset Water Villas with Pool, Deluxe and Premier Water Villa options, and the two-bedroom Rangali Ocean Pavilion with Pool. The Muraka, a two-level underwater residence with a submerged master bedroom beneath a curved acrylic dome five metres below sea level, also sits here alongside a private infinity pool and butler service.
**Restaurants & Bars**
The resort has an exceptional dining scene. Ithaa Undersea Restaurant serves fine dining beneath the ocean, and is available for private events and weddings. Ufaa by Jereme Leung offers contemporary Chinese cuisine with handmade noodles and dim sum. Atoll Market is the all-day buffet with live cooking stations and themed international evenings. Mandhoo Spa Restaurant focuses on wellness-inspired dishes. Sunset Grill serves premium seafood and grilled meats with an extensive wine list. Koko Grill is an intimate Japanese teppanyaki venue. Vilu Restaurant and Bar is an overwater Italian option with a curated wine list. The Cheese and Wine Bar is the Maldives' only dedicated cheese and wine venue, while the Wine Cellar holds around 15,000 bottles across more than 620 labels and is available for private tastings. The Rangali Bar overlooks the lagoon and the adults-only Quiet Zone offers a peaceful beachfront setting.
**Facilities & Activities**
The resort has two award-winning spas — one set 100 metres offshore and another with glass-floored treatment rooms. There is a fitness centre, daily classes, personal training, and yoga. Watersports include snorkelling on the house reef, guided safaris, diving at over 40 sites, whale shark and manta ray excursions, sunset dolphin cruises, traditional fishing, big game fishing, paddleboarding, catamaran sailing, jet packs, and X-blades. The Majaa Explorers Club (ages 3-12) has educational activities and a splash park, while the Furaavaru Teens' Club (ages 12-16) caters to older children.
