Grand Park Kodhipparu
Our Opinion
Grand Park Kodhipparu is a polished, well-run resort in the North Malé Atoll — just 20 minutes from the airport by speedboat, and a genuinely strong choice for those who want house reef access without a lengthy journey.
The villa lineup is predominantly over water — 120 in total — and the interiors are bright, well-considered and unfussy. The Reef Pool Water Villas are the stand-out category: positioned directly over the coral gardens, the marine life is visible without even leaving your villa. The five two-bedroom Grand Residences work well for families wanting the over-water experience with more space. The Beach Pool Villas occupy the island's finest stretch of beach, though they are semi-detached and sit closer together than you might expect.
Dining is a genuine strength. Edge handles all-day meals in a lovely waterside setting. Breeze doubles as the main bar and casual restaurant, with an easy, social atmosphere that runs through most of the day. The culinary centrepiece is Firedoor — elevated over-water fine dining that is worth booking whatever board basis you are on. Wine lovers should also enquire about the Wine Cellar, where curated tastings and private dinners are available.
Beyond the villas and restaurants, the Recreation Beach Club is an impressive facility: a gym and yoga studio with sweeping views, a marine biology centre, and both kids and teens clubs. A guided house reef tour with resident marine biologist Sarocha is one of those unexpected highlights that guests consistently mention.
For couples or families wanting an accessible North Malé location with strong dining and an active house reef, Grand Park Kodhipparu is a resort well worth shortlisting.
