Ifuru Island

Overview
|
Accommodation
Our Opinion
Ifuru Island is an independent resort with its own personality, and it wears that difference with pride. This is not a place designed for hushed seclusion. It is playful, sociable, and knowingly spirited, built around the idea that a Maldives holiday can be as lively or as relaxed as you choose to make it. With 147 suites and villas, six restaurants, four bars, and a genuine 24-hour all-inclusive package, the focus here is on freedom and having a good time.

The accommodation runs across the island in a mix of suites and villas, all with a fresh, contemporary look. The all-inclusive plan is comprehensive, not a reduced version, and the six dining venues keep things varied across the stay. Four bars mean there is always somewhere for a sundowner or a later drink, and the atmosphere is noticeably more sociable than the typical resort.

What really sets Ifuru apart is the private airstrip. The resort has its own runway, allowing direct domestic flights and about as smooth an arrival as you could ask for. It also opens up the rare opportunity to skydive over the Maldives, something you will not find at many resorts. For those who prefer to stay closer to sea level, the snorkelling and diving are excellent, and the full range of water sports and excursions is on offer.

Ifuru works best for groups of friends, couples who want energy alongside their downtime, and anyone who finds the traditional quiet island a little too subdued. It is not trying to be hushed luxury. That is the whole idea. A welcome dose of character in the Maldivian resort landscape.
Summary
Ifuru Island is an independent resort set on its own island in the Maldives, with 147 suites and villas spread across the property. The package runs on a 24-hour all-inclusive plan, and dining options include six restaurants and four bars.

The atmosphere here is designed to be sociable and playful — there is a lighthearted, unpretentious energy to the place that sets it apart from more formal resorts.

For guests who want to explore, snorkelling and diving reveal a vibrant underwater world around the island. For something rarer, Ifuru has its own private airstrip offering skydiving experiences with panoramic views across the Maldivian archipelago.
