Kuredu Island Resort & Spa
Our Opinion
Kuredu is a sizeable island resort with a distinctly lively, sociable atmosphere — helped along by 3km of gleaming white sand and an energy that suits families and groups alike. More than three-quarters of guests choose all-inclusive, and it is easy to see why: the value stacks up impressively once you factor in the breadth of dining, activities and evening entertainment on offer. This is a resort for those who want sun, sea and plenty to do, all wrapped up in a package that is hard to beat on value.
Summary
Kuredu occupies a generously sized island in Lhaviyani Atoll, bordered by a long sweep of powder-soft beach and thick tropical vegetation. Once regarded primarily as a diver's retreat, significant refurbishment and a striking new swimming pool have broadened its character considerably — though the diving programme, now with Nitrox, remains as popular as ever.
Accommodation spans Garden Bungalows, Beach Bungalows, Beach Villas, Jacuzzi Beach Villas and Sultan Pool Villas on land, plus Sangu Water Villas and the Honeymoon Suite over the lagoon. The Sangu category comes with its own pool and restaurant; the O' Resort similarly caters to adults (12+) in dedicated facilities.
Dining centres on four main buffet restaurants — Bonthi, Koamas, O' and Sangu — each serving breakfast, lunch and dinner in thatched, sand-floored settings with assigned seating. A la carte options include Franco's for Mediterranean, The Far East for Japanese teppanyaki and sushi, and The Beach for grilled seafood and steaks. The Sangu Wine Cellar holds over 250 labels with sommelier guidance.
Facilities are extensive: three freshwater swimming pools, floodlit tennis, a 6-hole pitch and putt, driving range, full watersports, a PADI dive centre, Duniye Spa and evening entertainment. Two all-inclusive plans are available. Children are welcome in most room categories; Sangu Water Villas and the Honeymoon Suite are for 18+ only, and O' Resort for 12+. Complimentary Wi-Fi is provided in rooms and public areas (100MB per user per day).
