Our Opinion

Meyyafushi arrived on the scene in late 2025 with ambitions that set it apart from the typical new opening. A premium all-inclusive with this many dining venues, this much activity kit, and an underwater restaurant is unusual even by Maldivian standards — and the early feedback from our clients has been encouraging.

The overwater padel court gets the headlines, and fair enough, it's a genuine first for the Maldives. But what's impressed us more is the sheer range of things to do beyond it: the floodlit tennis court, mini bowling, a proper cinema set-up, and a kids' club that goes well beyond the usual corner with some crayons. For families especially, this makes Meyyafushi an easy recommendation.

Dining is the resort's strongest card. Seven outlets could easily mean quantity over quality, but early reports suggest the variety holds up well, particularly since the team brought in a dedicated Culinary Director and specialist chefs. The underwater restaurant is a memorable experience, and the 24-hour café is a genuinely useful addition that more resorts should offer.

We haven't yet had the chance to visit ourselves, so this opinion is based on what we've gathered from client feedback, industry contacts, and the resort's own operational updates. Those updates suggest the early teething issues typical of a new opening are being addressed thoughtfully. We're keeping a close eye on Meyyafushi and look forward to experiencing it first-hand — at which point we'll update this page with our own impressions.

Introduction

Nestled in Lhaviyani Atoll and reached by a 35-minute seaplane from Malé, Meyyafushi Maldives is a five-star premium all-inclusive resort from the BEKIND collection. The island is ringed by coral gardens and a calm lagoon, giving it the classic Maldivian setting with a notably ambitious approach to facilities and dining. Opened in late 2025, it’s a new-generation resort that packs in more variety than most properties at this level.

Accommodation

All 94 villas and suites come with private pools. The accommodation splits neatly into three zones:

Dining

Meyyafushi’s premium all-inclusive covers seven dining venues, with enough range to keep a two-week stay from feeling repetitive. The line-up includes Bubble (underwater restaurant), Fili (international buffet), Alif (Asian), Thaana (Mediterranean), Sukun (teppanyaki), Hatharu Dhan (24-hour café), and Raa (wine cellar with sommelier service). Bars include an adults-only Sky Bar with a glass-bottom infinity pool, a sunset bar, and the main pool bar. Bubble, Sukun and the wine cellar carry a supplement; everything else is included.

Spa & Wellness

Veyoge Spa sits overwater with eight treatment rooms offering massages, facials and holistic therapies. Yoga and a fully equipped fitness centre are complimentary for all guests.

Activities & Facilities

This is where Meyyafushi stands out. The headline feature is the Maldives’ first overwater padel tennis court, but the list runs much longer: floodlit tennis, multi-purpose court, mini bowling, watersports (including diving and excursions), snorkelling equipment, an outdoor cinema, and a substantial kids’ club with a pool, climbing wall and mini sports court. Guests also get a complimentary shared excursion per stay depending on length — choose from snorkelling trips, sunset cruises, dolphin cruises or sunset fishing.
