Nala Maldives by Jawakara is a new addition to the Lhaviyani Atoll, open to guests aged 12 and above. With 80 villas spread across four categories — including both beach and overwater options, several with private pools — it offers a compact, thoughtfully laid-out island experience. The name 'Nala' means 'beautiful' in Dhivehi, and the property lives up to it with clean tropical design and a calm, adult-focused atmosphere.

We’re looking forward to visiting next year and getting a full sense of what it has to offer. Early signs are promising — a considered mix of dining, wellness, and water sports in a setting that prioritises relaxation without feeling quiet.

The island measures approximately 600 metres by 180 metres, with white-sand shores and clear lagoon waters setting a serene scene.

A 35-minute seaplane transfer from Velana International Airport brings you to the island, where the welcome is warm and the atmosphere unhurried. A short three-minute boat ride connects to neighbouring Jawakara Islands, giving guests access to additional dining, sports, and entertainment options.

Accommodation comprises 80 villas across four categories, blending clean tropical styling with modern comfort. Choices range from sunrise-facing beach villas to overwater suites, with private pool options available. Each villa includes a king-size bed, tropical decor, and a private porch. The Sunrise Beach Villas and Sunset Beach Pool Villas operate on solar power.

Dining spans several venues: Velu offers international buffet dining with live cooking stations; Milos serves Greek dishes and fresh seafood; Kumo focuses on Asian cuisine from sushi to curries; and Snack Lab provides lighter grab-and-go options including vegan and gluten-free choices. Bars include Bubbles for champagne at sunset, Sand Bar for casual cocktails, and Milos Bar for a quiet evening wind-down.

The Sulha Spa offers holistic treatments blending traditional techniques with modern wellness, plus a Himalayan salt room, red light and cold bath therapies. Prodivers runs the dive centre with guided excursions, PADI courses, and complimentary snorkelling equipment. Water sports cover jet skiing, wakeboarding, kayaking, stand-up paddleboarding, windsurfing, and catamaran sailing. On land, facilities include tennis, padel tennis, futsal, volleyball, badminton, a fitness centre, and a games room.
