RAAYA by Atmosphere
Our Opinion
RAAYA by Atmosphere sits in the Raa Atoll with 187 villas spread across beach and overwater settings. The resort offers a variety of dining venues, a spa, plenty of recreational options, and a kids' club.
We visited the island during its time under the Amari brand and are looking forward to returning now that the Atmosphere Group has taken over. The team made further enhancements following the July 2024 transition, and we are keen to see how the resort has developed.

Summary
RAAYA by Atmosphere occupies a private island in the Raa Atoll, surrounded by untouched reefs and lush tropical vegetation. The resort's character is shaped by the story of Seb, a shipwrecked artist who once made the island his home. Remnants of his imagined life remain visible: an art and crafts studio, a watchtower converted for private dining and stargazing, and a ship that frames the island's sense of adventure.
Accommodation comprises 187 beach and overwater villas, each offering direct access to the sand or the sea. Choices range from private pool villas to interconnected family suites, all set against a backdrop of palm-fringed shoreline and clear lagoon waters.
Dining is extensive, with seven venues spread across the island. The Amaya Food Gallery channels a lively hawker-market atmosphere, while Italian dishes are served poolside, sunset drinks and cocktails are enjoyed on a rooftop terrace, and a mobile bus dispenses snacks and ice-cream throughout the day. Freshly caught seafood features daily. Evenings come alive with live music, traditional Boduberu performances, and regular cultural events.
Facilities include a PADI dive centre, water sports, archery, a zip line, mini golf, paddle tennis, badminton, and a kids' club with indoor and outdoor play areas. Nature lovers can explore the mangroves via a walking trail, and ocean excursions take guests beyond the lagoon. The Village Square brings everything together with a cafe, the Maai Spa, and a gift shop.
