Anantara Kihavah manages something genuinely rare — it delivers a modern, polished luxury experience while retaining the unhurried soul of a Maldivian island escape. The landscaping is rich and natural, the villas have been thoughtfully refurbished to a high standard, and the lagoon and house reef remain as impressive as ever.

The overwater and underwater dining here is among the best in the Maldives. SEA is genuinely a bucket-list experience, and FIRE delivers memorable evenings when booked ahead. Service across the resort is warm and often theatrical, with real personality shining through, though dining consistency can vary slightly across the outlets.

Recreational facilities are excellent, snorkelling is strong, and there is a palpable sense of occasion from the moment guests arrive. Kihavah continues to sit comfortably among the very best resorts in the Indian Ocean. It is not a budget choice — but for clients looking for something genuinely exceptional, the price is entirely justified.

Set in the Baa Atoll UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, Anantara Kihavah Villas is a thirty-five-minute seaplane flight from Male. The island is lush and spacious, with expansive pool villas featuring high ceilings, timber interiors, and decks that open onto tropical vegetation and views of the lagoon.
