Heritance Aarah
Our Opinion
Heritance Aarah has a lot going for it as an all-inclusive in Raa Atoll — good-looking beaches, generously proportioned villas, and a dining programme that would satisfy most tastes. The island's maturing greenery adds real charm, and there's a warmth to the place that feels genuine rather than rehearsed.
Food is arguably where Aarah does its best work. Ginifati is a lovely spot for fresh seafood by the beach, while Ambula — with its Sri Lankan–Maldivian fusion menu — was one of the most memorable meals of our visit. The premium all-inclusive package earns its stripes: Taittinger Champagne, a well-chosen wine list, and cocktails at Bandhi Bar that are genuinely worth lingering over (Ishar's Angelfish Cocktail in particular). The infinity pool bar brings a sleek, adults-only energy to the evenings.
The accommodation holds up well. Beach Villas in particular benefit from generous private stretches of sand, and the rooms are maintained to a good standard throughout. Families and active guests are well catered for: the kids' club is well run, the gym is properly equipped, and there are some engaging touches — the Mauritian heritage exhibit among them. Our manta excursion was a standout, handled with evident care and enthusiasm by the team.
That said, the resort isn't without its limitations. Ralu and Ranba cover the daily dining reliably enough, but neither quite reaches the level of the best all-inclusives in the Maldives. Snorkelling is achievable but requires some effort — reef access isn't the easiest, and coral density is modest — so committed snorkellers may want to factor this in. Service is warm throughout, though there's an occasional tendency towards over-attentiveness: unsolicited upselling and repeated satisfaction checks can nudge the experience away from the seamless luxury it's aiming for.
At its best, Heritance Aarah delivers a lively, well-fed and comfortable stay — one that represents genuine value in the premium all-inclusive segment when the pricing aligns.
